Jammu’s Aarav Mahajan Named in Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy Squad

In a significant achievement, 19-year-old Aarav Mahajan from Jammu has earned a call-up to the 18-member Uttarakhand Ranji Trophy squad for the upcoming domestic cricket season. His selection reflects a remarkable journey marked by consistent performances across various age-group tournaments.

Aarav’s rise in the cricketing world stems from a stellar performance in notable tournaments, including the Cooch Behar Trophy (U-19), Vinoo Mankad Trophy, and the CK Nayudu Trophy (U-23). He accumulated nearly 700 runs, featuring three centuries and three half-centuries at the U-19 level alone. His performance in the U-23 format further highlighted his potential, evidenced by a composed 87-run knock.

His cricketing journey also includes participation in three National Cricket Academy (NCA) camps, including the most recent one at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. Remarkably, Aarav ranked 17th among the top U-19 run-getters in India last season. This stellar record, although shy of a national call-up, set the pathway for his inclusion in the senior squad.
