Auqib Nabi Shines as J&K Secures Historic Innings Victory

In a stunning display of cricket, Jammu and Kashmir’s team achieved a significant milestone by defeating Rajasthan by an innings in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group-A match at the Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium today. Leading the charge, Auqib Nabi delivered a phenomenal bowling performance, leading to a historic innings victory.

Resuming their second innings at a shaky 41 for 5, Rajasthan faced a daunting challenge. The team’s hopes faded quickly as Nabi unleashed a fiery spell, taking 7 wickets for just 24 runs across 11 overs. His exceptional seam and swing bowling displayed masterful control, leaving Rajasthan’s batters struggling to find their footing.

Supported ably by Yudhvir Singh, who claimed 2 wickets for 33 runs in 8.5 overs, the duo placed immense pressure on the Rajasthan batting line-up. J&K bowlers orchestrated a dramatic collapse, restricting Rajasthan to a mere 89 runs in their second innings.

Despite brief resistance from Deepak Hooda (28) and Deepak Chahar (26), the Rajasthan team could not withstand the relentless assault from Jammu and Kashmir’s bowlers.

Auqib Nabi’s remarkable all-round performance earned him the prestigious Player of the Match award, highlighting not only his brilliance but also the growing prowess of Jammu and Kashmir cricket on the national scene.

BCCI President Mithun Manhas and Brig Anil Gupta, member of the administration in JKCA, attended the match and congratulated the team on this remarkable victory. They described it as a “landmark achievement” for cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.

This emphatic victory signals a defining moment in Jammu and Kashmir’s cricketing history, showcasing their ever-growing strength and determination on the national stage. The team’s resilience and skill will leave a lasting impression in the annals of Indian cricket.
