Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) president Mayawati on Friday said that the “record-breaking” turnout, particularly of youth and women, at the rally held in Lucknow on the 19th death anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram has left rival parties “sleepless and nervous.”
In a post on X, a day after the grand gathering at the Kanshi Ram Memorial on VIP Road, Mayawati said that the enthusiasm and resolve of the attendees — especially their slogans pledging to ensure the formation of a BSP government in Uttar Pradesh for the fifth time — reflected the “unwavering determination” of the party’s supporters.
The four-time chief minister remarked that it was natural for opposition leaders to “lose their composure” after witnessing such an overwhelming show of strength, and advised her supporters to ignore “meaningless remarks and statements” by rival parties.
“The people of the Bahujan Samaj have shown the entire country how committed they are to fulfilling Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s dream of turning the oppressed into the ruling class through their votes,” she said.
Mayawati urged party workers to remain vigilant against the “divisive and deceitful tactics” of political opponents and to fully dedicate themselves to ‘Mission 2027’, the BSP’s campaign for the next Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Expressing gratitude to party functionaries and workers from across all 75 districts for safely mobilizing lakhs of supporters to and from the rally, she also thanked those who paid tributes to Kanshi Ram across India, calling their participation a symbol of unity and strength in carrying forward the BSP’s mission.
